Lockdown Expanded – Napowrimo 7

Today’s prompt.
The Fib. A six-line form. The syllable count is based off the Fibonacci sequence of 1/1/2/3/5/8. You can link multiple Fibs together into a multi-stanza poem, or even start going backwards after your first six lines, with syllable counts of 8/5/3/2/1/1. I did that, went up to 21, but then it got ridiculous. I stuck a bunch of them together.

In
This
Lockdown
Rat race pause.
I have pushed myself
Into new shapes and sequences,
Started new stories,
New normal?
Never
The
Same.
Then,
When
The world
E x p a n d e d,
Kept on breathing out,
Went on filling bigger spaces
Until the words would no longer fit onto pages
And when the scale of the landscape started to look much more like the territory than the map
And it soon became clear that the metaphor would collapse
If it didn’t take a breath in.
A pause to remain.
Contracted,
Contained.
Strong
Words.
Lock
Down
They said.
Three weeks max
And we are still here,
Only just coming out of it.
After a year of being severely restricted
I don’t know if I’ll manage it.
The changing of gears.
Soon enough,
I will
Move
On.
